Phil Peacock, Senior Pastor 
Phil grew up as an “MK” (missionary kid) in South Korea.  After returning to the States, he earned degrees from Mississippi College and Southeastern Baptist Seminary.  His first pastorate was a nine year ministry in Greene County, Virginia.  While there in 1993, he married Amber Rhodes, also an MK.  They have three children – Seth, Melody and Cara.  Phil has been at Broadus since September 1998, just the fourth pastor in the past 100 years.  Amber teaches a thriving Sunday School class, and the kids are also very involved in church activities and ministries.  In addition to church work, Phil enjoys gardening, fishing, building things, and spending quality time with his family. (phil@broadusmbc.org)

Garry Bone, Ministry Coordinator for Pastoral Care 
Garry began serving on the Broadus staff in January 2009.  He and his wife, Joye, are native Texans.  They moved to Virginia in the fall of 2006 to be near their daughter and her family.  Garry has served as a Minister of Education for over three decades and is deeply committed to the ministry of education in connecting people to the church family for spiritual growth and service.  He has also been involved in Senior Adult ministry for a number of years and sees our seniors as the ‘now’ in ministry.  Besides their daughter’s family living in Mechanicsville, they have a son and his family living in New Zealand. (grrybone@gmail.com)

Randy Cooksey, Minister of Youth 
Randy joined the Broadus family in December 2012.  He and his wife Christy were married in 1998, and they have three sons – Cameron, Cody and Cole.  Randy has been involved in youth ministry since 2003.  Before that, he was involved in ministry at a Christian school as Athletic Director and varsity basketball coach, as well as teaching Bible, P.E. and several other classes.  Randy is committed to building relationships with students and helping them discover the plans God has for their lives.  In sports, he’s a big Duke fan! (randy@broadusmbc.org)

Carol Golden, Minister of Music 
Carol grew up in the Charlottesville area but has called Mechanicsville her home for over 25 years.  She has been a part of the Broadus family since 1996 and joined our staff in November of 2003.  Previously she had served at several other churches as part-time Minister of Music and/or Accompanist.  Carol and her husband, Stan, have three children and two grandchildren.  (carol@broadusmbc.org)

Karen Tucker, Minister of Children and Families
Karen was a volunteer church leader for many years, and in 2005 made a decision to change careers and complete the Children’s Ministry Certification Program sponsored by the Virginia Baptist Mission Board.  She joined the Broadus staff in July 2008. She loves VBS and finding creative ways to combine children with mission projects where even the smallest child can participate. Karen and her husband Ran are VCU School of Business graduates and avid Rams Basketball fans. They enjoy being outdoors exploring God’s creation by hiking, canoeing and camping. (karen@broadusmbc.org)

Ellis Dunton, Organist
Ellis has been making music at Broadus since 1981 and has the longest tenure of any staff member.  She plays for the worship services and helps our many choirs and the praise team.  Besides playing the piano, organ or keyboard as needed, she is also part of the worship planning team.  Ellis teaches private music lessons and is an accompanist at St. Catherine’s School in Richmond.  She is married to Carl Monfalcone.

Tim Jones, Custodian
Tim has been part of our staff team since 1982.  He is more than just our custodian.  He is also a talented musician who sometimes plays with our Praise Band and has taught private guitar lessons to church and community children for many years.  Tim has five children and is married to Ikisha.

Gladys Seymour, Office Manager 
Gladys joined our staff back in February 2003.  She coordinates the smooth running of the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, sharing the position with Dare.  Gladys is a member of The Church of the Redeemer, and she has three children and three grandchildren spread out from Connecticut to Florida. (office@broadusmbc.org)

Dare Wright, Office Manager 
Dare has been a member of Broadus since 1953.  She retired from being the full-time office manager in 2000 after 14 years service, only to be brought back on board in July of 2002.  She now shares the position with Gladys, handling the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Dare is a member of the Vota Vita Sunday School Class.  Her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter are also active at Broadus. (office@broadusmbc.org)
